📍 Safety Track — V24 real-device GPS tracking test

V24 upgrade: this version can request the device's real location when the page is served over HTTPS and permission is granted. Browser geolocation requires a secure context and user permission.
🔐 Location permission

The website can ask for permission, but it cannot switch your phone's location permission on by itself. If the browser says permission is blocked, use the browser/site permission settings to allow Location.

Privacy / safety rule

A point is labelled locally saved unless a future secure backend confirms receipt. V24 does not claim to transmit an emergency signal and does not contact rescue services.

Important: this prototype records a real device GPS position locally. It does not contact rescue services or transmit a real emergency beacon.

Important mobile limitation: a normal browser page may be paused when the phone is locked, the browser is backgrounded, or the operating system saves battery. This V24 timer is a test of the logic, not a guarantee of background tracking.

When simulated signal is unavailable, points remain local in this demo. A production version would need a secure backend and a supported communications path before a point could be treated as transmitted.

V24 navigation + real-GPS tracking test

  1. Tap any item under What do you need? — the page should jump to the answer/results area.
  2. On a phone, tap CHECK LOCATION PERMISSION.
  3. Tap ENABLE / GET MY LOCATION. If the browser/phone has blocked the site, use its site-permission settings to allow Location.
  4. If permission was previously blocked, use the browser's site permissions/settings to allow Location. The website itself cannot silently grant an operating-system/browser permission.
  5. Confirm the page is compact on a phone: one-column cards, full-width buttons and less unnecessary scrolling.

V24 real-GPS test gate

  1. Serve this page from an HTTPS address on a phone/tablet.
  2. Tap GET MY REAL LOCATION and allow location permission.
  3. Confirm latitude, longitude and accuracy appear.
  4. Reload the page and confirm the saved point is still visible locally.
  5. Tap EXPORT SAFETY INFO and confirm a text file is created.
  6. For the offline test, use the existing SIMULATE NO SIGNAL controls and verify that locally stored points are never labelled as transmitted.

Next production gate: secure backend receipt/acknowledgement. Until that exists, V20 deliberately does not claim that a location has reached a server or rescue service.

Safety Track test sequence

Run this manually in order. This is a simulation gate, not an emergency service.

  1. Set 5 minutes → START SAFETY TRACK → confirm a last transmitted location appears.
  2. Click SIMULATE NO SIGNAL.
  3. Click TRANSMIT CHECK-IN → confirm it says NOT transmitted and stored points increase.
  4. Click SIMULATE SIGNAL RETURN.
  5. Click TRANSMIT CHECK-IN → confirm the Last transmitted location updates.
  6. Click SAFETY BEACON DEMO → confirm it shows the last transmitted point and timestamp.
  7. Click CLEAR DEMO DATA → confirm everything resets.
